On June 20, 2017, we reached an unwanted milestone: We passed 11,000 flights over this previously peaceful neighborhood of more than 1,000 home owners. (Officials, take note: That equates to at least that many voters.) Mind you, this figure represents only those flights for which someone was here to record the data. Being an organization fueled purely by volunteers, there are times and days where we’re unable to capture flight data. That means the actual number flights polluting our senses are actually higher.
At the end of that date, our average flights per day stayed at a strong 80. Luckily for us, we don’t have to do an awful lot of math to figure out those numbers equate — using a 12-hour day, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. — of one flight every 9 minutes. Every. 9. Minutes.
What genius in local or federal government thinks that’s an acceptable way to live?
