As if it weren’t bad enough that we’ve been bombarded with single- and twin-engine planes all day every day for the past 6 months, now Witham Field is apparently permitting jets to practice over our formerly peaceful homes in western Stuart.
We hate to say “I told you so” — sincerely, we hate to say it because we wish it hadn’t come true! — but, we told you so. If we don’t tell the County Commission that we don’t want flight school plans flying over our homes every 10 minutes (that’s not an exaggeration), then how are they to know? If there’s no opposition to whatever actions they took/approved to make this happen, then they aren’t going to revert flight activity over our Stuart homes to prior levels (virtually none).
Someone was fortunate to be somewhat at the ready to capture this image of a jet flying over her home, during one of its flights overhead on July 27 at 2:47 p.m., but she wasn’t ready enough to set focus, and we’ve been unable to identify the tail number. Do you know this plane? If you can find it at the FAA registration site, please contact us and let us know.
And, please, please contact your County Commissioner and tell them that this level of flight training noise isn’t something you want in your hometown!
