How to Contact Martin County Airport Manager?

Posted on Posted in Take Action Against Stuart Airport Noise

UPDATE: TCPalm.com published an interesting article regarding Airport Manager Erik Treudt’s termination from Martin County Airport. Though Mr. Treudt claims he was told that he was terminated “without cause,” according to the article, he was terminated among allegations of abusive behavior. You can read the article here

UPDATE: We monitor the County Administrator and Commission emails semi-regularly, and we’ve noticed there’s always a few day lag and often a week lag between emails received and posted. So at the time of our posting, we were unaware that Airport Manager, Erik Treudt, was terminated “without cause” on November 6, 2017. We’re not telling secrets out of school — Mr. Treudt himself wrote to the County Administrator, perhaps unaware even, that his email would be made public.

We don’t personally know or have any like or dislike for Mr. Treudt, but we do feel badly that it looks an awful lot like the County kept him around to get through The Stuart Airshow, and then promptly dropped him, once it was over.

Anyway, it seems that’s why his email account was removed from the County’s Directory. When we have a new email address for a new (or old?) Airport Manager, we’ll post it here.

Original Post:

We previously posted links to Martin County‘s online complaint form to submit complaints regarding airport noise Martin County Airport (aka Witham Field) and encouraged you to submit complaints. Apparently, you did, because they took down the form.

Then we posted a link to the Airport Manager’s online email form and encouraged you to use that instead. That must’ve worked, also, because they took down that form too.

It seems they would like us to call them instead. Here is the web page with the instructions and the phone number is (772) 221-1476. Press *67 and then dial the number, to invoke Caller ID blocking. They call it a “hotline,” but if the issue were all that hot to them, we’re pretty sure we wouldn’t be 10 months into this issue of non-stop flight school noise with no response and no results.

We would note that it didn’t take but a week or two for your regular complaint submissions for those forms to be removed. So the County’s IT Department is working, and they can move quickly when they need to.

So Where Are the ANAC Meeting Minutes?

We understand how a meeting occurs and then the minutes are approved at the following meeting, but the last Airport Noise Advisory Committee (ANAC) was October 26, and today is November 9, and the JULY meeting minutes (which should’ve been approved October 26) are still not posted here.

The IT Department is doing their job. How about you, ANAC Committee Members? Can we get the months-old meeting minutes any time soon?
